Winter Track is a pre-season training program for those interested in Spring Track & Field. The focus and goal is to gain strength, conditioning, and develop skills for Spring. Anyone who wants to be competitive in the Spring season should take part in the pre-season training program.

Participation in Winter Track is a voluntary and does not affect a student's status for Spring Track & Field. Practices in the Winter do not count towards Spring season in any way. Practices are not mandatory but are highly encouraged to gain the proper pre-season training.

As a Track & Field pre-season program we have the same expectations and policies for Winter Track & Field as we do for Spring Track & Field. As Student-Athletes you are required to meet academic standards in order to compete, this includes in-season and off-season programs.

If you are already a part of a Winter sports program and want to participate or compete, you need to speak with your in-season coach and have the Principal sign off under the form: Written Permission of the Principal.

There will be opportunities to compete at indoor Track & Field meets in January and February. These competitions are voluntary and does not affect a student's status for Spring Track & Field. If you are interested in competing at some indoor meets, please let me know well ahead of time. All participation fees and transportation to the meets will be up to the athlete and parents. If you are going to participate at indoor meets, you are NOT allowed to wear Centaurus gear of any kind (hoodies, t-shirts, jerseys, etc). Indoor meets should be for fun and a test to see where you are in your training. Please do not race every week, I prefer only 3-4 competitions total.

Any student-athlete competing at indoor meet(s) will need to pay their own event fee(s) per indoor competition. Entry fees vary from $10-$15 per event. Below are the possible competitions for Winter Track. Note: The Bolded meets are USATF competitions. These meets are competed on Sundays where CHSAA coaches are not allowed to attend. If you would like to register and compete at these meets you may. Fee for USATF registration is an additional $20.

Important youth membership Information:   Athletes, Coaches and Parents -- remember that athletes cannot register or compete unless their birth date has been verified by USATF Colorado.  You must email a photocopy (scanned or picture from camera/phone) of their birth certificate, passport, drivers license or other legal document clearly showing Date of Birth.  E-mail to Megan Greene at usatfcolorado@gmail.com
